• The Oscillation Method reported here is a modified method for measuring respiratory flow resistance described by Mead, in which inserting of a tube in the animal chest cavity is not required. Principle of this method with the connection to the mechanical properties of the lung and measurements of total respiratory flow resistance in five guinea pigs were described.Without harming the animal this method can best be applied to the study of toxicity of respiratory irritants either in acute or long term chronic exposure experiment.
