For clarifying the relation between some environmental factors and functional changes of brain, the functions of interbrain were investigated by way of Ultra-shortwave irradiation. Three environmental conditions were set up; light, dark, and noise.The illumination in the light condition was 3200 Lux with day-light fluorescent lamp. For the noise condition, 100 to 105phon noise characterized by wide octave band spectrum was used. The subjects were healthy 5 men and 3 women, and stood in hunger from the early morning under each condition during the study. They were irradiated by Ultra-shortwave (irradiation factors: wave length, 6m.; secondaty current, 1800mA.) at their temporal regions through the interbrain for 15 minutes.The results obtained were as follows:1) The changes of the amount of blood sugar, urinary 17-K. S., and uropepsin by the irradiation were not significant between light and dark condition. But the decrease in the number of eosinophilic leucocytes by irradiation was greater in the light than the dark.2) The increases in the amount of blood sugar, urinary 17-K. S., and uropepsin, and the decrease in the number of eosinophilic leucocytes by irradiation were not observed after exposure to noise.These facts give proof of the dysfunctions of interbrain in exposure to noise.
