The inner compositions of iron oxide (<I>i</I>. <I>e</I>. contents or ratio of Fe : FeO : Fe<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>) have been estimated usually by the chemical analysis which requires complicated procedures and a long time and is apt to be accompanied with personal errors. The author presented a simple means without chemical procedure, in which the difference in the magnetic induced electromotive force for each iron oxide was utilized for the estimation.<BR>A definite regularity was found between the induced electromotive force and the inner composition of oxide. The maximum experimental error in the measurement of induced electromotive force for a sample did not exceed 1%, and by introducing the relative volume of the oxide into consideration, the composition of the iron oxide could be estimated with a fairly good accuracy. The correlations between the induced electromotive force, the relative volume and the constitution of iron oxide were illustrated over the range of Fe<SUP>2+</SUP>%/Fe<SUP>3+</SUP>% ≥ 0.5. This offered a rapid means as a supplemental method for the chemical analysis.
