By using ARLs 1.5 m Quantometer, analysis of trace elements in steel have been carried out with point-to-plane method.Low voltage spark discharge (C=60μF, R=-50Ω, L=360μH, V=940 V) is used for the excitation.When sample polarity is positive, working curves for Ni, Cr, Mo, Cu, Co, V, W, Sn and Ti in concentration range 0.01-0.2% and B in concentration range 0.0006-0.02 % are.obtained successfully, and these elements are determinable with a coefficient of variation of about 2-6%.When sample polarity is negative, working curves for Ta, Nb, Zr and As in concentration range 0.01-0.2% and Al in concentration range 0.003-0.1 % are obtained successfully, and these elements are determinable with a coefficient of variation of about 3-8%.
