Dealing with a number of specimens of Leander serrifer Stimpson obtained monthly, an ecological study has done as to the following items: growth, and weight-length relationship of the shrimp; number of eggs produced by the female. The result taken is that the female grows fast during periods from April to May and from Nov. to Dec., the male from April to May. Breeding season ranges from July to early in October. Young appears from Oct. to Nov. Most of the mother females disappear after spawning, consequently it may be said that the animal in qusstion is of one age. The number of eggs attached to pleopods vary considerably with difference of size of mother shrimp. It is, on average, 330, 542 in the shrimps ranging 0.0-0.5g, 0.5-1.0g in weight respectively. The weight-length relationship of the female may be expressed as follows: W=0.00000886 L3.257, that of male similar to this.
