Investigating the effect of freshness of fish upon the potency of their melanophorhormones, it is revealed that the effect is little in lower temperature, e. g. out-door temperature in winter, but considerably large in summer. In the previous paper potency of melanophorhormone of fishes is compared, the samples being in different degree of freshness. Therefore, the individual value may need some correction, but the tendency that bottom fishes or deep-sea fishes are rich in the hormone than pelagic fishes can clearly be seem.
