A brown marine alga, Eisenia bicyclis, not only produces potassium material but affords an important food item of Haliotis and Turbo, edible shells: the over-catch of this alga naturally leads the food shortatge for these animals. The experiments show optimum amount of alga (N kg) to be collected expressed as, N=S-[RW (15.2 H+17.4T)] where S is stock of alga (Kg), H and T (Kg.) stock of Haliotis and Turbo respectively, R (tsubo) area of ground and N (Kg) average weight of single full grown alga.
