Populations of the jack mackerel and the mackerel have been exploited by fishing of the purse-seine boats in recent years. The fishing grounds of those populations are shallow in depth and located west off Cheju Do I. in the Yellow Sea. The jack mackerel in catches are 32-33cm long in body length, and immature. The rate of individual number of the jack makerel is higher than that of the male in the sex ratio. The fishing season is about 2 months from the last ten days of October to the last ten days of December, and as the season progresses the fishing grounds move towards Kuchibinose Bank. Generally speaking, it is likely that the fishing grounds are made in the areas having 15-20°C water temperature zones.
