A simple method with the injection of horse serum to increase the number of mitotic cells in the kidney tissue of fishes is recommended as follows: (1) Inject 0.2g horse serum (per 10g body weight of the specimen) into the muscle; (2) inject again by the same way on the fourth day after the first injection; and (3) prepare chromosome slides as usual on the fifth day after the first injection.
