(1) The habitats of Tylototriton andersoni BOULENGER in Tokunoshima cover the places 100-200m high, lying particularly on the southern and western foot of Mt. Minata, Mt. Tanpatsu, Mt. Haku and Mt. Inutabu. These areas correspond to places where Kunigami gravel and Riukiu limestone are intricated with each other, followed at the upper place of the mountain by a mostly Palaeozoic formation.(2) The spawning seems to occur from early February to late June. The peak season probably extends from the middle of March to early April. The spawning occurs in relation to rainfall. The eggs are spawned in humus or under decayed leaves in places adjacent to ponds, puddles and springs.
