• A slightly stimulating effect of HEPES on the growth of M. pneumoniae and no significant effect on the growth of human mycoplasmas, M. salivarium, M. hominis, M. fermentans and M. orale, in broth culture were obtained. On the other hand, no remarkable effect of HEPES on the maintenance of pH of the broth culture inoculated with human mycoplasmas was noted.
