Neurological complications are not uncommon in leukemia, but the spinal cord is seldom affected. There have been a number of reports on neurological complications in leukemia since Burns who in 1823, first described a patient with paraplegia which developed during the course of leukemia. In literature, frequency of spinal involvement is much less than that of cerebral and cranial nerve involvements. We have recently observed a patient with acute myeloblastic leukemia who had initial complaints of anemia and enlarged lymphnodes and later developed acute transverse myelopathy. This case will be described with a review of literature.
