A rare case of hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma was reported. A 58 year old female visited a doctor for anorexia and weight loss in January, 1985. Laboratory data revealed only elevated serum alkaline phosphatase, elevated serum LAP and elevated γ-GTP. Tumor markers were all negative except for ferritin. Numerous calcified lesions of the liver were pointed out on the plain film of the abdomen.<BR>Then needle biopsy of the liver was done. But the precise diagnosis was not obtained and only calcified lesions were shown in the obtained specimen. Calcifications in the liver gradually increased. She admitted the Wakayama Red Cross Hospital for severe general malaise and dry coughs in July, 1987. She died of respiratory failure 3 days after admission and 2.5 years after the onset. Autopsy was done. Multiple calcified lesions of epithelioid hemangioendothelioma were seen diffusely in the liver, diffusely in the lung, and in the abdominal lymph modes. Calcifications were seen in the centers of the tumors. Carcinogens to her illness were not supposed.
