1. On the cyanogen bromide cleavage of urease in 70% formic acid, addition of 2-mercaptoethanol led to the increase of the cleavage.2. Dithiothreitol and thiodiglycol were not effective for it.3. The cleavage ratio was estimated by gel filtration, N-terminal determina tion and the yield of cleaved peptides.4. A similar effect was observed on phosphorylase b as urease.
