The effect of vacuum on the dark-and photo-conduction of polymers containing rhodanine or pyrimidine rings in the main chain was studied. The absorbed some oxygen and water on the surface of polymer were eliminated in high vacuum, so that the dark-current became very small and the photo-current under illumination of visible and ultra-violet rays became larger than that in an atmosphere.<BR>The surface dark- and photo-current of aromatic polymers containing π-electrons in the main chain were larger than that of aliphatic polymers containing σ-electrons.
