Specific surface area was measured on swaged UO<SUB>2</SUB> compacts by B.E.T. method using Kr as adsorbate. The procedure for specimen preparation of swaged UO<SUB>2</SUB> compact is discussed in the report. Measured values of cold swaged UO<SUB>2</SUB> compact (88% T.D.) were mostly 0.51-0.70 m<SUP>2</SUP>/g, while those of hot swaged UO<SUB>2</SUB> compact (94% T.D.) mostly 0.05-3.13m<SUP>2</SUP>/g.
