The articulation tests were carried out in 100 deaf children of Kyoto prefectural school for the deaf. At the same time factors that affected its difference, (superiority or inferiority) were studied and considered to determine what should be given due attention in order to make their articulations better. Their past history, hearing loss, speech reading ability, educational age, voice quality, discriminating ability of sounds and I.Q. were examined in detail os that the factors affecting the articulation score might be made clear.As the results of these examination, it was found that the articulation score runs parallel with their age in which they lost hearing, period of education hearing loss, speech reading ability and voice quality.The articulation score for words and sentences increased remarkably above the 30% line of syllable articulation. The inprovement for articulation score in sentences was especially remar kable.
