Ki-67 score was determined in 58 colorectal cancer tissue obtained from 56 colorectal cancer patients. In normal colon mucosa, Ki-67 score was 28.9±6.6 % in the bottom of the crypt. Ki-67 score of colorectal cancer tissue was significantly higher than that of normal colon mucosa (38.5±10.3%, p<0.01). Ki-67 score was significantly lower in cancer confined to mucosa than in carcinomas invaded through muscularis mucosae. Ki-67 score was significantly higher in cancer tissue with lymphatic vessel invasion. Other clinicopathplogic variables, including serum CEA levels, did not correlate with Ki-67 score.
