There are two opposing opinions about the original tissues of colorectal cancer. One advocates adenoma-cancer sequence, another de novo cancer. W e report a case of duble early cancer of the colon detected by colonofiberscopy with subsequent barium enema in one day. This fluoroscopic double contrast was not inferior to the common barium enema. The combined examination facilitated detecting colon cancer in early stage. Each early cancer of the colon assumed of the form of flat elevation. pathologicaly one was de novo cancer another was cancer in adenoma. Both cancer invased submucosal layer of the colon. About 20 polyps were detected in the colon by the examination, and assumed of the form of semisphere or sphere in contrast with the form of the flat cancer. These polyps were adenomas coexisting with no cancer in pathology. Regarbless the opposing opinions of the oncogenesity of colonic mucosa, the concepts of de novo cancer and cancer in adenoma may be near by each other.
