• Diagnosis of the atherosclerosis is not yet easy nowadays. Author thinks there are abnormal metabolisms of the lipids as a background of the atherosclerosis. Adopting the measuring of cholesterol in β-lipoprotein fraction as a index of this disease, author measured cholesterol concentration in β-fraction after paper-electrophoresis of the serum, and concluded that the combination of the ratio of cholesterol in β-fraction to total cholesterol and the level of cholesterol in β-fraction is useful for diagnosis of this disease.
