The ultrasonic flaw detection method for checking the internal flaws of iron and steel is widely used and its automatizing method has recently advance and thus, it is necessary to the production of iron and steel.Since 1973 development has been made mainly for an accurate automatic marking on the flaw, difficult problem in in-line use and signal processing method for increase of S/N, and also decrease of mis-work.Development was done in 1976. Flaw detection rate is 97.4% for all flaws and 100% for flows whose F/B is 50%, and mis-work rate of marking is less than 6%.This apparatus is working at Hoshizaki plant of Daido Steel Co., Ltd.
