• SCHOORL presented the chemical structure of urea glucoside as follows: NH2-CO-N=CH(CHOH)4-CH2OH. The proof for his presentation, however, was questionable. Therefore, this investigation was performed. The o-dinitrobenzene reaction, Seliwanoff test, Dische-Borenfrend reaction, cyanization, optical rotation, peroxide oxidation, and infrared spectra of urea glucoside were examined. At a result, this compound was recognized to be urea β-D-glucopyranoside.
