Six indian varieties were exposed to the light of 8, 11, and 14 hour days.<BR>The growth of shoot was worse by the short-day treatment, while it was better by long-day treatment.<BR>It was seemed that the varietal difference of photoperiodic response was not observed between Indian varieties and Chinese varieties.<BR>But the photoperiodic response gave stronger effect on the length of stem than on the number of leaves.
