This experiment was carried out for 19 weeks with twelve rabbits which had been divided into 6 lots, in order to examine the cobalt tolerance in the domestic rabbits. The amounts of Co that had been given per os to each animal, per 1kg. body weight a day, were 0.05mg in lot I, 0.1mg in lot II, 0.5mg in lot III, 1, 0mg in lot IV, 5.0mg in lot V and 10.0mg in lot VI. According to the result, there was difference in the growth of the body weight between animals in 6 lots. No difference was also found in the number of leucocytes, size of erythrocytes, apetite and general conditions of the animal; but the number of erythrocytes and hemoglobin contents in the blood of the rabbits in lot V and VI was much larger than that in other lots. From these results, the authors come to guess that there is no Co toxicity in the rabbit as the result of high oral administration.<BR>By the way, the authors knew that the Co content of the liver of the rabbit which had been given per os 10.0mg of Co per 1Kg. body weight a day for 6 weeks was about fifty times larger than that of the control animal. The Co content in the fece of that rabbit was so fair, that we could see that the fair amount of Co that had been administered orally to the rabbit seemed to be excreted in his feces.
