In our first paper, we confirmed the fact noted by SASAKI that the sera of egg-laying hens were distinguished by precipitin reaction from those of non-laying hens and cocks. Moreover, we analyzed the serological structures of common antigenic substances in the sera of egglaying hens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. In this paper, our experiments have been carried on to elucidate serochemical natures of the antigenic substances mentioned above, and the results are summarized as follows: 1. The specific antigenic substances in the sera of egg-laying hen are not influenced by ether treatment, but precipitated by saturation with ammonium sulphate.2. The specific substances are not destroyed by putting these substances in water bath of 56°C orof 60°C for 30 minutes. However, in 70°C, they are severely destroyed, and perfectly destroyed in 80°C.From these facts we know that these are thermolabile substances.3. These specific substances are recognized in egg, proteins, especially in ovo-vitellin, but not in eggwhite. From these results, it may be presumed that the serochemical natures of the specific substances are to be proteinic.
