This report is based on the data collected by social anthropological field work from 1964 to 1966 at the foot of Mt. Hanang concerning Iraqw tribe expansion area in the northern region of Tanzania. It is said that the Iraqw have a solid, unique religion which we can not be found among the many surrounding tribes; that their religion is complicated, not only in the belief system, but also in the practices. The author tried to verify these accounts of the Iraqw religion's connection with social structure by investigating their supernatural beings, spirits of the dead, curses, witchcraft, etc.We might find a way to solve the East African Cattle Culture Complex by comparing the traditional beliefs and practices of the Iraqw with those of Nilo-Hamates and the other Hamites in Northern Africa.
