We investigated the effects of hypergravity on gene expression in Escherichia coli. Analysis of gene expression using green fluorescence protein reporter showed downregulation at 50,000g, as found for OmpW, which was one of the gravity-induced proteins. Real time-PCR analysis showed normal transcription even at 50,000g. These results suggest that hypergravity inhibited the translation process in gene expression.
