Chita Plant in DAIDO STEEL Co., Ltd. is a consistent special steel making plant based on the order-received production in many kinds and small lot. The melting plan has been managed by the production planning section of Chita Plant. This planning process makes the operation plan of melting and blooming process on the basis of the rolling schedule of products. Also finally it gives the instructions to the manufacturing process. This procedure was the big burden for the person in charge, because it needs know-how, experience, and many working hours. On the other hand, the recent computer technology such as Windows application enables to enhance the operability and expression capability that were impossible in a conventional main frame cheaply. The information sharing also became easy by upgrading the network environment such as LAN. From such a background , the project that improves the melt planning process was planned in 1999, to cut down personnel cost and to cut work time. "The Charge Management System" that almost covers the whole process was completed in 2002. This report introduces the system outline, the view of a system configuration , and also the development approach in the small scale system based on Object-Oriented theory.
