In stainless steel wire and bar production, it has become more impor-tant to reduce the total cost from materials to final processing. Hosizaki plant of Daido Steel Co., Ltd. has tackled this problem to develop user oriented high cost-performance wire rod products with short delivery time and less surface defects. Water-soluble coating and carrier packed stainless steel wire rod is one of these products.
