The authors have proposed the punching shear capacity equation for steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) slabs based on the equation of Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE). Addition of steel fibers into concrete improves mechanical behavior, ductility and fatigue strength of concrete. Previous studies by many researchers have been demonstrated the effectiveness of fiber reinforcement in improving the shear behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) slabs. The proposed equation for the punching shear capacity of SFRC slabs have been verified on 70 SFRC slabs. those SFRC slabs tested in laboratories were relatively smaller slab thickness than actual bridge slabs. In the present study, in order to verify the further applicability of the proposed equation, finite element analysis is carried out for real size of SFRC slabs. From the comparison between the finite element analysis and the proposed equation, the proposed equation is applicable to real size of SFRC slabs.
