The purpose of this study is to apply the jigsaw method, which is a collaborative learning method, and to observe its effectiveness in teaching about radiation. We examined a change in he recognition of students about radiation, and also in the conversations of students in a science class. The following points were noted. 1. Many students gained more knowledge about radiation. 2. Students exchanged many conversations sharing his or her knowledge and experience. Therefore, we were able to effectively apply the jigsaw method in teaching about radiation.
