学校における「食育」に家庭科教育が果たす役割

Recently, our country has been having carious types of ptoblems for "food". Therefore, in 2005 (Heisei 17 Year), the fundamental law of dietary education was established. Especially, the importance and necessity of Shokuiku (Education of eating hacits) has been emphasized, because the health of children will be affected during their lifetime. In the same year, the system for teachers to give the lesson of nutrition has started at Primaru School and Junior High School. The "Dietary Education" has started being provided for those students by using every opportybuty and place. However, those teachers, who have been providing the lesson of untrition for students, have not been given any time for technical teaching, and have been extremely busy performing their primary food service. Therefore, it has been estimated that those teachers of nutrition are not able to have enough time to give a lesson to students in the classroom. That is why it has been considered that the cooperation with "home economics", which is the subject to give a lesson to students in relation to food, will be highly significant in this case. However, the content of "home economics" hos been gradually reduced, as the proposal of the school curriculum guideline has beeb amended and the teaching hours of such domestic science has been shortened. At oresent, it has been considered that the teaching hours and content of "home economics" shall need to be reciewed, as the nature of "Shokuiku (Education of eating habits)" has become significant.
