Since the profession of nursery school teachers was nationally qualified, their daily teaching and care work has diverged and become more professional. The purpose of this paper is to categorize nursery school teachers' work through observation with one-year olds as well as teacher interviews. Using this data, we examine how to utilize it in nursery teachers' training curriculum. Three researchers observed nursery teacher's work separately and recorded how they worked with 1- year - olds in the classroom for half a day, in 6 public and private nursery schools in Japan. Recorded tasks were categorized into three categories: education, care and other. The results propose three steps, 1) Teachers should be aware of what they teach based on categorized jobs when teaching at teacher training schools. 2) Teachers should know what they do not teach at classes and, should investigate who would teach those areas. 3) Make those untaught subjects into the formal part of the school curriculum,like the required preparatory education for teaching practice.
