According to the foods listed in the Scripture one can understalld the various kinds of foods consumed by the people whose history is recorded there. In this paper the foods used in Biblical times are grouped according to commonly accepted food groups. Grains and cereal products; meat,poultry and fish; and an assortment of fruits and vegetables were known. Milk and milk prodllcts; and honey a1so provided food to the people. It was noted that the basic preparation and methods of preservation of foods followed much thesame principles as that employed today. Acknowledgement is made of information from Bible dictionaries and to the American Dietetic Association.
