論文This paper overviewed previous researches about recognition of facial expressions for individuals with autism in terms of whole/parts, stimulus?intensity, and changing speed. One of the fundamental elements about development of social interaction is to make the other person's facial expression function as a stimulus. For individuals with autism who have problem with social interaction do they have the difficulty in responding to the stimuli of facial expressions. However, findings in comprehension of facial expression in autism are in consistent. In this review paper, first, we broke studies down into patterns in terms of used stimuli and analysis what influences the impairment of facial expression comprehension in autism. Then, we classified used stimulus under three topics; 1) a whole/part of face, 2) intensities of facial expression, and 3) the speed of change in facial expression. Evidence for such topics comes in part of behavioral, eye-tracking, and intervention studies. Lastly, we discuss the factors that make children with autism have difficulties in comprehension of facial expression. As a consequence, we proposed the characteristics in autism corresponding to three topics; such as autism 1) use a cue of mouth area as opposed to eyes one, 2) can't understand the facial expression in low intensities, and 3) can't perceive the natural (high) speed of change in facial expression.?Analyses of these three focal points will enhance to understand the mechanism of the facial recognition for individuals with autism, which is our proposal for the future direction of research
