This paper examines how much the social inclusion education is dealt with in middle school education. The result reveals that lessons for socially excluded people such as criminals, alcohol or drug addicts, or homeless people are scarcely held there. To gain understanding for those people more, a lecture held by an ex-drug addict who belongs to Nara DARC (Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Center) is introduced. The importance of dialogue between students and socially excluded people in class is also highlighted. A good dialogue is beneficial to both of them: while the students learn about social injustice directly from the lecturers, the people are empowered to recover their pride by giving lessons at school. They recognize that they are a part of society, and that they can contribute to it. In the latter part of the paper a guideline for school teachers to give lessons on the socially excluded people is proposed. In addition, to foster the social inclusion education at school, an interview of the members of Nara DARC is cited. In conclusion, communication and interaction between students and people who are socially excluded are vital to enhance the social inclusion education. And as the education permeates, social inclusion itself will permeate society as well.
