Investigation of Glycosides in the leaves of African Celosia argentea L.

[Synopsis] Five glycosides were isolated from the leaves of Celosia argentea L. and their structures were determined based on UV, MS, ^1H-NMR and ^<13>C-NMR spectroscopic data as 1-(4-O- β-glucopyranosyl- 3-methoxyphenyl) propane-2-ene (citrusin C, 1), 3-O-β-glucopyranosyl-1H-indole (indican, 2), (3Z)-hexenyl-1-O-(6-O-α-rhamnopyranosyl- β-glucopyranoside) (3), (3Z)-hexenyl-1-O-β- glucopyranoside (4), and (7E)-6,9-dihydromegastigma-7-ene-3-one-9-O-β-glucopyranoside (5). In the bioassay with germinating lettuce seeds, compound 1, aglycone of 1 (1a), and aglycone of 3 (3a) exhibited growth inhibitory activity, whereas compounds 2 and 3 had a growth promoting activity. The presence of compounds 1-5 in the leaves of Celosia argentea L. is reported here for the first time. （摘要） 機能性天然物分子探索の一環として、ノゲイトウ（Celosia argentea L.)の葉から5種の配糖体が単離された。それらの構造は各種スペクトルデータに基づいて 1-(4-O-β-glucopyranosy 1-3-methoxyphenyl) propane-2-ene (citrusin C,1), 3-O-β-glucopyranosyl-1H-indole (indican, 2), (3Z)-hexenyl-1-O-(6-O-α-rhamnopyranosyl-β-glucopyranoside) (3), (3Z)-hexenyl-1-O-β-glucopyranoside (4), (7E)-6,9-dihydromegastigma-7-ene-3-one-9O-β-glucopyranoside (5) と決定した。発芽に対する影響をレタスを用いて検討した結果、化合物 1, 1 のアグリコン、3のアグリコンは生長阻害作用を示し、化合物2および3は若干の生長促進作用を示した。今回の研究で単離した化合物1-5は、ノゲイトウの葉中から初めて見い出した成分である。
