This paper investigated the employment structure in Thailand by observing Labor Force Survey published by National Statistical Office of Royal Thai Government Recently Professor Harry T. Oshima delineated, in his Economic Gr-owth in Monsoon Asia, the process towards full employment in Mon-soon Asia. Monsoon Asia can be characterized to have two distinct seasons, rainy and dry. In the rainy season, rainfrall can provide the job opportunities for rural people, but in the dry season employment opportunities decrease drastically due to shortage of water. Such seasonable fluctuation of employment opportunities is the most crucialissue in employment problem in Monsoon Asia. Needless to say, Thailand is the typical example of Monsoon Asia. This paper found that there still remains such fluctuation of employment opportunities in rural areas in Thailand, in spite of rapid industrialization since 1960.
