To clarify optimal culture conditions of nobile-type Dendrobium, CO_2 uptake and stomata conductance under different environmental conditions were investigated and it was confirmed that Dendrobium Snow Flake ’Red Star’ is a C_3 type photo synthetic plant. 1.CO_2 uptake rate was the highest at 20℃ under light. Stomata conductance was the highest at 25℃. 2.Light compensation point was 20~30μmol・m^<-2>・s^<-1> and that of saturation point was around 800μmol・m^<-2>・s^<-1>. Stomata conductance was the highest at 600μmol・m^<-2>・s^<-1>. 3.No CO_2 uptake was observed under dark. The release of CO_2 was the lowest at 20℃ and increase at higher temperatures. Stomata conductance was the highest at 20℃ but the value was lower than under light. 4.CO_2 uptake rate was higher at higher CO_2 concentrations.
