Vocabularies in language materials in “English activities" in elementary schools (ES) have not been examined enough as to their effectiveness for English in junior high schools. So, this study aims at clarifying the characteristics of spoken and written language of American children and an integrated vocabulary list of spoken and written language to be one of the effective references to introduce vocabularies in ES. The usefulness oft he findings of this study is also verified at the end.
