Gonorrhea has gradually decreased probably due to penicillin and other antibiotics as well as to social changes since a rise in the immediate post-World War-II era. It is, however, again increasing recently. Decrease of sensitivity of penicillin against the Neisseria is now becoming universal, and incidence of unsuccessful treatment with penicillin is increasing. Some cases show penicillin sensitivity in the in vitro study but do not clinically respond to it. For five cases of such, kefiodin was administered intramuscularly for 3 to 4 days at dosage of 1,000 mg/day. All the cases were cured. Literature was reviewed about penicillinresistant gonorrhea.
