The use of Dacron graft as a substitute of the peritoneum was described. The anterior pelvic evisceration was performed in a 50-year-old woman suffering from urachal adenocarcinoma. From this experience it may be apparent that Dacron graft is almost satisfactory for large defect of the peritoneum. Dacron fabric approximately 8 by 20 cm in size was used. While there is moderate reaction of the human body to this synthetic mesh, it would be advised to apply the material even in presence of infection. With use of it, repair of a defect of the peritoneum might be possible in order to prevent various postoperative complications. The literatures about the use of Dacron fabric in the field of urology were briefly reviewed.
