急性心筋硬塞に対する新しい診療体制　―内科的並びに外科治療の実際―

In the present paper the importance of emergency treatment of myocardial infarction which has a high mortality rate and is showing a rapid increase in Japan has been pointed out and at the same time, it was stressed that a new emergency system should be set up in the community to deal with cases of acute coronary attacks. We pointed out that in order to deal with this problem as the first step coronary care unit (CCU) should be set up in general hospitals and we have suggested that an organizing committee should be formed including the Rescue Squad of the fire Brigade, the Medical Association and the Hokkaido Prefectural Office. We have also reported the development of CCU activities starting from the intensive care unit at the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Sapporo Medical College and Hospital. Based on our experience, we have suggested that an effective cooperative system in our medical community CCU at various hospitals should be organized in such a way that intensive care may be given when such emergencies arise. We have also stressed that the above system may be realized by a small investiment for facilities and a limited increase of doctors and paramedical people.
