As stated above, the journal "Seikatsu Gakko" existed on the central place of the juvenile cultural activities in the prewar period of our country. It encouraged chiefly many creative practices of the school-teachers. And it promoted the popularization of "the educational picture-card" which was a characteristic cultural asset of the juvenile culture. In addition to it, this journal also contributed to the theoretical development of the juvenile culture. It's a remarkable affair that the journal carried not a little its own essays about the problem of the juvenile culture. I will indicate mainly on the two directions in this paper. One is the realm of the juvenile literature, and another is the area of children's drama. Both areas was the chief two phases of the general movement of the juvenile culture at the same time. The former mainly dealed a concrete method or a technique and expressed a companionate attitude to the conscientious writers and products. The latter was the subject that the journal showed the stronger interest. The children's drama and "the school-drama" made progress after Taisho-period remarkably. And "the school-drama" (or "the Gakugeikai") was the educational and powerful event that teachers took part in seriously. The essays about the children's drama on this journal appealed the importance of the drama and emphasized its effectiveness to the children's social and mental life.
