The purpose of this study was examining how music was used effectively at the school and the work institution of handicapped persons. Also another purpose was to examine which element of music, rhythm, melody, and lyrics, influenced children, and how close was the relationship between music and children's development of mind and body. The questionnaire was Performed at the ordinary schools, the schools for handicapped children and the work institution to examine thoughts of the teachers and the students about the music. The results showed that the importance of the music were recognized at the school for handicapped children more than at the ordinary school, and the remarknble effects of music were admitted in handicapped children ; many of them were achieved stabilizing their feeling, uttering clearly and moving smoothly by applying music. This survey also revealed that a lot of normal children needed music in life as well as children with disabilities. For the prospects in the future, this kind of study will clarify the effects of music in physical and mental development.
