Kimura’s disease, a chronic inflammatory condition of unknown cause, is endemic in Orientals. The clinicalfeatures of this disease include young and middle aged male predominance, predilection for the head and neckregions and a long duration. The disease may present as single or multiple lesions, mainly involving subcutaneoustissues, major salivary glands and lymph nodes in isolation or in combination. Histopathologically, the lesion ischaracterized by hyperplasia of lymphoid tissue with well-developed lymphoid follicles, marked infiltration ofeosinophils, proliferation of thin-walled capillary venules and varying degrees of fibrosis. This paper reviewed thecurrent understanding of this disease and discussed its distinctions to angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia(ALHE).
