The absorbed dose rates in air due to terrestrial gamma radiation in Naha city were measured at 1008 points with Nal(Tl) scintillation spectrometers. The mean, minimum and maximum dose rates were estimated to be 38.5nGy/h, 13.7nGy/h, 103.0nGy/h, respectively. The concentrations of ^<40>K, ^<238>U-serise and ^<232>Th-serise in the geologic and soil samples from Naha city were determined with a Ge semiconductor detector. Based on these results, the minimum and maximum of the dose rates were estimated to be 0.6nGy/h (Ryukyu Limestone) and 104.5nGy/h (Dark red soil), respectively.
