• This paper presents a new method of designing a smoothing filter with a lattice filter. An attractive feature of the proposed method is that phase delay due to the smoothing processing for observed data is compensated using k-steps ahead lattice prediction filter. This method is then applied to restoration of observed-data for a power system.
