原著In the 2006, “Improved Health and Healthy Living Seminar”, we assessed formation of exercise habits based on changes in the results of a basic medical check-up, measurements of physical fitness and a questionnaire on habits and then reported. In the survey on habits, a number of participants self-evaluated for their habits to have improved or to be improved it. With respect to questions regarding exercise habits (final session), 2/3 of attendees responded that the number of days they exercised increased after the “Improved Health and Healthy Living Seminar” was conducted. In terms of the results of the medical check-up, BMI, fat percentage, and blood pressure decreased remarkably but measurements of physical fitness remained the same. These facts suggest that detailed approaches such as health lectures on prevention of lifestyle-related illnesses, feedback of exercise programs based on results of individual measurements, provision of types of exercise suited to attendees’ goals, and instruction in stretching and forms of exercise that can easily be done at home and in the workplace had an effect.
