• This paper investigates the steady-state resistances of horizontal grounding electrodes based on experimental measurements, FDTD (Finite-Difference Time-Domain) simulations and analytical formula. The resistance of a grounding mesh is compared with that of a horizontal conducting plate considering the area and the shape. Finally an approximate formula to estimate grounding resistance is developed.
